CREATIVE IDEAS

This page is intended to be a resource to give and get ideas as to how you can be creative in using your talents, time and money!  This is just a running list of ideas that people have had in ICU since we started the club to either raise awareness or money or BOTH…  Please feel free to do ANY of these ideas…feel free to add any ideas to these lists…feel free to THINK BIG and BE A HERO!

WHAT TALENTS & SKILLS DO I HAVE THAT I CAN CONTRIBUTE?
-I know a LOT of people; I have family and friends that know actors in Hollywood; connections;
I am in theatre and choir; I’m an Internet junkie; I can cook; I can sew; I have an uncle who is a computer wiz (web stuff!); I’m creative; I can throw house parties too!-Talents: poetry, art, writing, scrap booking, putting things together-Have a concert to raise $; “Traveling” singers; Advertise in LA; Make website; Public reading of my lyrics and poetry-Artistic ability; kindness; helpfulness; sense of humor; cooking; understanding people; sewing; decorating; -I can send chain letters, sell Christmas gifts (or gifts for any holiday), I can have a bake sale, I can have house parties, I can ask my mom who has a lot of friends to come to house parties-I’m good at talking to people, singing, writing, reading; I love people, I’m spontaneous, I’m creative

PROJECTS
-Have house parties
-Major SCV screening (COC, Edwards theatre, etc)
-Flag football tournament; 3 on 3 basketball tournament;
-make & sell candles, cookies (bake sale), pencils,
-can drive at school/church for extra credit (?)
-start a club at school and work on fundraisers together
-as a club, ‘sponsor’ a child in Uganda through a reputable organization-school carnival: Ugandan dancers, face painting,
-lunch delivery to teachers-flyers in everyone’s box (locker); canvas campus with posters
-Have a house party campaign; start a photo mural on campus of house parties
-have movie playing on TVs for sale at Best Buy etc.
-Local merchant: Baja, Auto Spa, -Candy Cane gram; Valentine gram; B-day grams
-sell T-shirts & bracelets
-sell stuff at a school dance
-host a charity fashion show
-Host a high-end raffle (ex. have a luxury car ‘donated’ and charge $100 ticket)
-recycle
-walk every day (like the night commuters)
-call the news and get media coverage
-host a marathon where people sponsor the runners

LETTER WRITING, ETC
-Brad Pitt, Angelina Joline, Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Gwenyth Paltrow, City Council, U2, Lifetime network, Eva Longoria, Good Morning LA, Dr. Phil, the Signal, Bumper Stickers,

-Write Fox News and request more stories covering Uganda crisis (rios@fox11.com )-Start ICU MySpace; website-make template letters available (Mrs. Margrave, World Vision, Gulu Walk, etc) and write political people-do research on internet and tell people (forward them links)ANNA’S IDEAS (6/07)
-Art Show/Auction (all mediums) (Africa-themed)
-Bake Sale (green!)
-Potluck (we bring it, sell it)
-Concert
-Restaurant sales (% of night’s sales go to us)
-Screening w/ food, drink sales*

-Dinner and discussion (HRW)
-ICU ornaments (X-mas)
-Fair (face painting/tattoos, balloons, caricatures, raffles, food/drink)
-Local walk (mini GuluWalk)*
-1 day lessons (art, languages, some other skill)
-Contests (eating, dancing-Lauren/Ashley, singing)*
-Q&A with Rafael (Hot Spot answers?)
-Summer/end-of-year bash – benefit concert, donated catering, screening?
