RECAP OF TODAY’S MEETING
We watched the ‘Big Ideas’ clip, introduced ourselves and told why we came to the club, we  wrote down our talents and skills (what we bring to the table), we started brainstorming events that we could do to raise awareness and money, talked about October and the different events coming up, and learned about  ‘action items’!

ACTIONS ITEMS TO DO/BRING FOR NEXT MTG (10/10/06)
1.
brainstorm and write down all your talents, strengths, interests, abilities
2.  log onto this blog :)
-Read links on the right-there’s LOTS to learn!
-Read about Northern Uganda Lobby Day and the Gulu Walk (and we want to do a screening in the VHS theatre!  so be thinking about how to make that good!)
-Read the ‘CALENDAR’ page at the top of this blog and look for upcoming events!
-Remember the ’Comment’ contest!  The person who leaves constructive comments the same day a post is written, the most times, wins a FABULOUS house party kit!
3.  bring a cell phone to the meeting on October 10th!  We’re going to make some noise for Northern Uganda Lobby Day !

MISC UPDATES/REMINDERS
-Core Member, Rafael, is celebrating his birthday on Sunday 10/1!
-Mrs. Margrave will be showing the Invisible Children movie during lunch on October 5th-Thursday (Part 1) and October 6th Friday(Part 2) in the ICU HQ, rm 930.  Bring a friend!

We can already tell that this is a GREAT group!  We’re looking forward to what we can accomplish as a group of people who want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!  Have a great day and be thinking of ways to help ‘Save the Humans’!

Yes! First comment! (Not only on this entry but for me on this whole site!) First of many to come! My thoughts on today’s meeting: It was interesting to consider what i could “bring to the table.” I had never really thought of all my skills, talents, abilities, etc. in much depth and in such a collective way, so it was interesting to see what I came up with and considering all the possiblities of how I can use these to impact the world for the better
(and to “raise awareness”!). I am very excited for next meeting to see what everyone comes up with as far as ther own specialties, as well as to complete my talents list. I’m psyched to be in this club and can’t wait to start making a difference! I can already tell that my senior year will definitely be the most exhilarating, the most challenging, the most eye-opening, and the most worthwhile.
    Peace & Love, Anna Novaes

OK lets see….I really want to say that I am happy to be apart of a club that helps to make such a big difference in peoples lives. Not only does icu help to change the lives of the children in uganda but it also helps to change people like me and everyone else in the club. I feel that as far as changing my life so far I am trying to have a bigger say in what is going on in the world instead of sitting at home on the computer all day I can go out and educate people on what is going on in the rest of the world. I want to thank you Miss Neylan and Mrs. Margrave for having this club and wanting to help others.

We want to equip you guys with some life skills to help you be powerful and contributing members of society! Thanx for coming and for bringing such a great attitude that’s ready to work and grow! On behalf of Mrs. Margrave and the core members of ICU, we’re so excited!
